A year after demons attacked the academy, Seika, now a second-year, is asked by the headmistress to take part in a combat tournament after it suddenly repealed its ban on mages. Although he initially wants to decline, once introduced to the academy’s other participant, a new student by the name of Mabel Crane, he decides to enter. Something seems off about Mabel, and it’s strange that a new student was invited to participate instead of someone proven like Amyu. Determined to get to the bottom of things, Seika travels to the imperial capital to join the tournament. Who is Mabel, and why were the tournament’s rules abruptly changed? Entering is the only way to find out.

During spring break of his second year at the academy, Seika returns to the Lamprogue estate for the first time since he left. At the request of his family, he brings Amyu and the others along. Awaiting them were Seika’s older brother Gly, who had left to join the military, and the stunningly beautiful Fiona, an imperial princess with a mysterious power. Meanwhile, danger lurks nearby as a group of demons intent on killing the Hero infiltrate the academy. When Seika goes to intercept them and protect Amyu, they realize something about him that brings them one step closer to the truth of Seika’s existence.

Accepting the support of Holy Princess Fiona for now, Seika and Amyu reach the free city of Rakana. A city of adventurers, Rakana sustains itself with resources from the surrounding dungeons. Soon after arriving, Seika and Amyu reunite with Yifa and Mabel and begin their lives as adventurers. All is going well with the group’s dungeon diving until an unexpected incident triggers a strange phenomena in the dungeons. Suddenly, the city of Rakana finds itself in grave danger, and Seika must make a crucial decision.

Time has passed since the unprecedented stampede that attacked Rakana was quelled, and Seika and the others have been given adventurer ranks for their achievements. The party gets bored of hanging around Rakana now that its dungeons are gone and decides to take on a guild request from a nearby city. They set out into a forest to fulfill the request, where they find a pair of adventurers beset by monsters. After Seika and his party rescue them, the pair asks them to rescue their kidnapped comrades. However, Seika soon realizes that there’s more to both them and their request than meets the eye.

After being declared Demon Lord by the divine demon priestess Lulum, Seika heads to demon territory. The potential return of the Demon Lord after sixteen years prompts a council between the representatives of the seven demon races. However, with the pro-war and moderate factions clashing and each race pursuing its own agenda, the discussions quickly became deadlocked. Disillusioned by the same political atmosphere he once loathed in his past life, Seika turns his attention to the young rulers who lack real power. As he spends time with them, memories of his time training his disciples begin to resurface.

After returning from demon territory, Seika begins to settle into life as an adventurer in Rakana. However, he barely has any time to enjoy the peace before an imperial envoy appears and requests that Amyu come to the capital. Returning to the empire they had once fled, Seika and the others reunite with Fiona and are called to stand before Emperor Gilzerius. Unbeknownst to the group, accepting the emperor’s request sets a grand chain of events into motion. Just what does the emperor have planned for Seika and the Hero?
