I’m Capped at Level 1?! Thus Begins My Journey to Become the World’s Strongest Badass!

I’m Tetsuya Takahashi. I was transported to a different world while trying to save a girl from some thugs. In this world, I’m “defective,” and they tossed me out—all because my level caps at 1! Luckily, I’ve got an ability called Corpse Absorb, which lets me grab stat boosts and abilities off of any dead body I can get my hands on. With the help of an energetic cat-sith and a stuffed bear, my journey to make it to the top awaits! I’ll prove to everyone that I’m not defective—I’m a badass!

I finally managed to make it out of the Valley of Death, but the journey to becoming a badass is always filled with trouble. News is spreading that the humans, one of the weakest races, are taking back their domain. Meanwhile, I join a guild to travel around and make some cash. There are some hiccups along the way, but it’s smooth sailing until I’m faced with a terrifying ritual. I’m suddenly plunged into the deep unknown, where I learn a thing or two about my unique skill, Corpse Absorb. I’m gonna gamble everything to save my friends, no matter where that path may lead. I may be level 1, but I’m no pushover!

Why can’t we just live in peace?! Now the humans are invading other domains! They’re falling one after another, and now it’s the elves’ turn! I can’t just let this slide—I owe an elf, after all, since Mekh saved me in the Valley of Death. Together with my allies, I’ll give everything I’ve got to protect the elves and their domain, but can I really protect everyone if I’m up against an actual hero? Will my training amount to anything, or is this the end of the road for this level 1 weakling?

Together with Mekh and her sister Sakh, I’ve joined the fray to fight against humans! No one’s hurting my friends on my watch! One of the heroes forces me into a duel, mano a mano, and I have no choice but to accept if I want to protect those dear to me. I once again reach the Abyss and am promised great power in exchange for my support. It reminds me of why I came here in the first place—to get back at those bullies from Earth! At this point, I’ve got nothing to lose, so I’ll use whatever power I can. Everyone might think I’m a weakling, but I’m anything but—I’m the badass that’ll save the elves!

Now that I’ve survived my clash against the hero and received acknowledgment from the guild, I’m so glad to learn that I’m debt-free! Varfol’s my next destination, where a certain saint protects the citizens from the invading heroes and humans. At Varfol, I’m met with kindness from the farmers, who were exiled from the humans’ domain because of their low levels, just like me. And that saint looks awfully familiar… As another hero arrives to wipe out this city, I’m intent on protecting everyone once more! With Mekh and my friends beside me, I’m prepared to put my life on the line. Will a miracle strike twice for a level 1 loser like me?
