Arata Toudou is just your average overworked corporate drone stuck in a monotonous grind—or at least he was, until a god’s careless mistake leads to his untimely demise. Life after death isn’t all that bad, though. As an apology, the god reincarnates him on a remote island in another world, complete with two overpowered cheats: a body immune to injury and illness, and a skill that lets him copy the spells and abilities of anyone he meets. At long last, Arata can finally live out his dream of a quiet, solitary life in the great outdoors. But blissful solitude isn’t what greets him. It turns out the not-so-deserted island is home to the world’s strongest legendary beings. One thing’s certain: With the charming castaway and master magician Reina here to help, Arata’s new life promises unexpected companions and delicious feasts galore!

Some months have passed since Arata Toudou’s reincarnation on the island of Arcadia, and he’s pretty much used to his new, laid-back life. He spends his time hunting, fishing, and eating together with his new friends—who are actually legendary, ultra-powerful paramounts—and coming up with ways to foil the vampire Wilhelmina’s frequent pranks on him and Reina. But these quiet days are interrupted by the unexpected arrival of a pair of magicians...and Reina knows them! Not only that, Arata also discovers and saves a half-drowned elf(?) girl, and his continued exploration of the island brings him into contact with yet more paramounts: specifically, the aggressive Ancient Dragonfolk and Fierce Ogrefolk. Luckily, they’re no match for his “healthy” (read: invincible) body, and he knows there’s no better way to solve their problems than with a big feast!

After getting to know some of the Ancient Dragonfolk and Fierce Ogrefolk, Arata and Reina head to the village where Katima and the Alfar live. But trouble is afoot: the Great Spirits, protector deities of the Alfar, have disappeared, and the village has become prey for monsters! Together with the reluctant Katima, Arata will have to journey north, scaling cliffs, traversing inhospitable wastelands, and climbing an active volcano, all to figure out what’s going on. And when he finally reaches his destination, what’s waiting for him is...a mysterious little girl who calls him her father and Reina her mother?! Arata’s relaxed island life continues, now with a new addition.

The time has finally come for Arata and the others to visit the village of the Fierce Ogrefolk—and what’s more, it’s a full-blown hot spring town! Sights both fresh and pleasantly familiar await Arata in the nostalgic townscape, amid the wafting hazes of steam. But, as always, life on the island isn’t all leisure, and he quickly finds it impossible to enjoy a relaxing soak in the bath. Luna undergoes a sudden change, and Tailtiu starts making some moves of her own. On top of all that, the legendary vampire Wilhelmina has some serious worries on her mind. Eternal life can be deathly boring, after all... Slowly but surely, time moves forward on the island of Arcadia.
