The Eternal Fool's Words of Wisdom: A Pawsitively Fantastic Adventure (Manga)

A couple thousand years of solitude would wear down any young man—that is, anyone except Asley, an eternally youthful and eternally foolish sorcerer. After all, he has man’s best friend...er, familiar, to keep him company. When his Level 100 canine companion Pochi demands that he get some fresh air for the first time in two centuries, Asley sets out to reintegrate into society and test his magic mettle. His mission? Dropping several unglamorous titles from his repertoire and restoring his good (okay, decent) name. A brand-new world and fresh adventures await Asley after his many years of hermitage. Perhaps he’ll lend Pochi a hand to place first in the mysterious Familiar Feud. Or maybe he’ll lose all vestiges of dignity and turn tail. Whichever comes first! No matter what, Asley has great evil to fight, a big world to save, and even a little growing up to do...that is, if he can endure Pochi’s “friendly advice” along the way!

After lending a hand (or paw) to the people of Falltown, the unlikely duo of the eternal fool Asley and his poochy pal Pochi are back in action! What adventures await? Well, an unexpected goblin attack puts a pin in those plans as the duo is tasked with getting to the bottom of the sudden onslaught. But soon enough, it’s time to get this show back on the road! With their prodigal protégé Rina in tow, Asley and Pochi set off on a new mission. As if duking it out with a chimera and doing manual labor wasn’t enough, it’s time to go back to school—they’re headed to the Incantation Institute! Will Asley prevail, or will he flunk out for the second time in 5,000 years? Between the Six Soldiers’ pupils and the Six Sorcerers, he’ll have his hands full with new friends and rivals. Wait, what’s with all these sixes? It’s only volume 2! It’s collegiate canine chaos! Who knew academia was such a dog-eat-dog world?!

There’s trouble apaw as the trio of Asley, Rina, and Pochi await the start of their school days. Make no bones about it—they’re struggling for cash! Dorm life may be just around the corner, but until then, Asley must find a way to make ends meet and coax Rina out of her shell. That means guild jobs. Unfortunately, Asley might have bitten off more than he can chew. Between wrestling new academic responsibilities and tackling A-rank monsters for loot, he has his work cut out for him—especially when their encounter with a dragon turns into a bloody mess! Asley can only hope the semester won’t be too doggone difficult—unlike Aileen, one of the illustrious Six Sorcerers constantly nipping at his heels. Worse, the Institute’s magical contract conundrum has him, Rina, and all their fellow classmates on a short leash. How can Asley wriggle out of this one?
