After finally shaking those pesky princes, Alphina was able to enjoy a year of adventure at sea. However, before the ceremony, she meets with Prince Lionett’s secret older brother, Girne, who’d been imprisoned under the palace grounds his entire life. That was surprising enough on its own, but Girne’s revelations are even more shocking. He was trapped in a time loop, much like Alphina had been, and he predicts that a great calamity will strike the empire, destroying it! As if that wasn’t bad enough, an “unfortunate accident” causes Prince Lionett to fall into a coma. In order to save him, Alphina expends all her magic to enter the time loop again. But the world she finds herself in is a dark place vastly different from the one she was familiar with. Can she guide herself and her prince back to the world of light?
