Rentt Faina, a twenty-five-year-old adventurer, has been hacking away at monsters for a decade. However, without much talent for the job, Rentt finds himself stuck hunting Slimes and Goblins for meager amounts of coin every day. Little does he know, all this is about to change when he comes across a seemingly undiscovered path in the Labyrinth of the Moon's Reflection. 

What awaits him at the end of the path, however, is neither treasure nor riches, but a legendary dragon that wastes no time swallowing him whole! Waking up a short time later, Rentt finds himself not quite dead, but not very alive either— He is nothing more than a pile of bones! Armed with nothing but his trusty sword, tool belt, and ghoulish new looks, Rentt sets off on his quest as a newly reborn Skeleton to achieve Existential Evolution, hoping to one day return to civilization with a more human form. 

Will Rentt succeed, or will the labyrinth consume him for the rest of his un-death...?

Tasked with picking up the grand guildmaster of Yaaran and bringing them to Maalt, Rentt and Lorraine travel to Yaaran’s capital, Vistelya, only to find the grand guildmaster is out and won’t be back for a few days. Now that Rentt and Lorraine have unexpected time on their hands, they decide to take care of their additional errands in the city. They head to the Church of the Eastern Sky to deliver Sister Lillian’s letter to Abess Elza, then meet up with Augurey, their colorful acquaintance, to visit the palace for an audience with Princess Jia.

During their meeting, the princess unexpectedly begs Rentt for a favor. Secrets and machinations abound among the Kingdom of Yaaran’s royalty, putting themselves and the kingdom at risk. The solution lies with the Land of the Venerable Holy Tree and the high elves that live there, but their help comes with conditions, ones that may involve Rentt and, of all things, his cursed mask!

Rentt and Lorraine travel to Vistelya to pick up the grand guildmaster, but first they deliver a letter, pick up Augurey, and visit the palace to meet with Princess Jia, who begs Rentt for a favor—one that may involve him and his cursed mask!
